i ran a two day test with $100 usd as balance in demo account. it gave me $10 as profit and $50 as loss.. should i continue testing for more few days or i should ask for refund? also wat forex robot actually works? that you prefer?

With the continual credit quagmire in the United States, and continuing woes about The Two Macs. The U.S dollar is set to weaken so gold is performing strongly (basic hedge against inflation), do you think this is going to stronger demand for currency of major gold producers like South Africa (not a major currency) and the Australian Dollar (AUD)?

Will these factors push the AUD above parity with the USD or with the market psychology stop this from happening since nobody would believe it can actually last?

Here is my thought about borrowing the 700 billion from China.
Big background:
1. Transaction between US and China is done with US dollars- everything is calculated in US dollars.
2. US has been urging China to raise the value of Chinese currency; that is, to devaluate US dollar. Effect: in 2004 USD 1 = CNY 8.2 (China Yuan); in September, 2008 USD 1= CNY 6.8. USD devaluation rate in 4 years: (1-6.8/8.2)x100%=13%.
3. US owes China a lot of US dollars.
4. China is having high inflation rate. In 2004, 1 lb of rice CNY 1.00. In 2008, 1lb of rice, CNY 1.50

So, if federal government borrows, say, 100 billion from China now and pays it off in 4 years (in real world it’s definitely gonna be a much longer time, which is a good thing), what will happen?
Say, China has 680 billion CNY, representing 680 billion lbs of rice, converts it into USD 100 billion, lends it to US federal government.

In 4 year, federal government gives the 100 billion USD back to China.
Devaluation rate remains 13%. 6.8x(100-13)%=5.92
Chinese government converts 100 billion USD into 592 billion CNY.
Considering commodity inflation rate is 50%(very possible). The payment china receives will represent 592 billion/1.5=394 billion lbs of rice.

So, if we borrow 100 billion USD from china now, in 4 years, China will end up losing the value of (680-394=) 286 billion lbs of rice.

General rule: Lender’s loss is debtor’s gain.

So, suppose before this 700 loan, US already owes China 1000 billon, but after borrowing and paying off the 700 billion loan, US will owe China less than 1000 billion of debt.

Conclusion: This is a good deal!

i.e. Yahoo is trading at about $27 i would buy a LEAP JAN09 17.5 strike at $11.15 and sell/write a JAN08 30 strike for $1.15 total cost is $10 ($1000 for the contract), and as the calls I write expire I would write new ones for the next month until I get exercized (in the first trade that would be at $30 for a $250 profit on a $1000 investment) or offset the LEAP close to expiration, always making sure the strike price was high enough so that if excersized I would make money counting in the premiums I collected. Basically this is similar to standard covered calls but more leverage (I belive the proper term for this strategy would be a “Diagonal Spread”). Is there any downside of using LEAPS instead of Stock that I am missing besides the obvious time constraint where I have a little over a year to pull a profit as opposed to buying the stock where I have as long as it takes? Any suggestions or tips are appreciated.

I’m hoping for opinions from people who have used a strategy along these lines. I’m new to stock options.
I buy a stock in a company and at the same time sell a Put option and a Call option. I set aside enough cash to cover the put. The call is covered by my stock purchase.
I would only use this strategy on a stock that I’d still want to buy even if it dropped to the Put price.
Example:
Apple (figures are current, in round figures, for Nov. 2, 2008)
3 month time frame.
$100 Apple share price
5.20 April 150 call
1.65 April 50 put
2.5% APY 3 month CD (yield at 3 months apx. 0.625%)
Buy 100 shares of Apple = 100*100 = $10,000
Sell 1 April 150 call = 5.20*100 = $520
Sell 1 April 50 put = 1.65*100 = $165
Set aside $5000 in a CD to cover put, interest earned = 5000*0.625 = $31.25
Total investment 10,000 + 5,000 = $15,000
Scenario 1, no change in stock price. Both options expire.
Final account balance = 15,000 + 520 + 165 + 31.25 = $15,716.25, 4.8% gain, 20.5% APY
Scenario 2, Apple rises above 150. Call option exercises. Put option expires.
Final account balance = (100 * 150) + (5,000) + 520 + 165 + 31.25 = $20,716.25, 38.1% gain, 364% APY
Scenario 3, Apple falls below 50. Call option expires. Put option exercises.
Final account balance = (100 * 50) + (100 * 50) + 520 + 165 + 31.25 = $10,716.25, 38% loss, 76.4% APY loss
Only Scenario 3 has a loss, but I’d decided beforehand that I’d buy more stock at that price anyway. So my average stock price would have dropped from $100 to $75.

Any of you have experience on strategies like this? Also, I haven’t included commissions. What should I expect in the way of commissions for selling options?

Seems to me that if we de-value the US dollar, we will buy less from foreign country and other country will buy more of our goods.
That should solve the problem of trade deficits and out sourcing of US jobs to other countries.

Is it because of the oil dependancy that stop us from doing it ?

Okay. I am a low income single mom trying to start a cleaning business. I need some money to help with start up. Things like a computer, a stock of basic supplies, some fliers and such. My adviser suggested this career since I am interested in agriculture (and have an agriculture background) and I am interested in travel (and have traveled a lot). I just have not been able to find much information on what an FX trader would do if they are majoring on the Ag side of things. Also, wanting to know how demanding it is, as I am married with a one year old and family come first.

AIG has served as an automatic conduit for billions and billions to banks overseas who bought AIG subprime loans. Crazy or what? Have we been bailing out German, Chinese and other foreign banks? Hell, they are out of control in the U.S. Congress. Just printing up money, borrowing and the Fed is loaning and printing. Loans at 0% for the selected few.
