check at your local library. the librarians there are paid to help you find the information you want to find. also there are databases full of grants, start with your state, as they would be most likely to help people locally. Pell grants are for nearly everyone going to college. They can even pay for most of the first few semesters. Some grants for students count you as a student even with the missing year, as you are a student as soon as you enroll in college.

If you really want to go to college and you have decided what career you wish to study then you have several grant options available to you.
As you are 19 years old, you will be classed as a “traditional Student” which means there are lots of opportunities to receive financial aid. Also because you have no real income, the federal government will probably help you with Need-Based Grants, which include the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program (FSEOG)
These need based grants are awarded to students who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
To apply for federal grants you need to complete a FAFSA application which can be done in two ways..
1- Enroll at a school or college on to a course of study and the school/college will help you complete and submit the form for you
2- Complete a FAFSA form online at – http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
You will need to prepare financial information to complete this form, including your parents financial information if you are still a dependent.
There are lots of opportunities for funding… and as you are a woman, you have even more grants that you could be eligible for..
For more Information about different grants see the below website links:
PELL Grants – http://www.schoolgrantsresource.org/Federal-Pell-Grants.html
Grants for Women – http://www.schoolgrantsresource.org/School-and-College-Grants-for-Women.html
FSEOG – http://www.schoolgrantsresource.org/FSEOG-Grants-Program.html
And don’t listen to anybody leaving rude comments on your questions. You are entitled to an education no matter what your personal circumstances or background maybe.
Hop this information helps

There are special funds for single moms through the Rankin Foundation and Raise the Nation. But you can also find some related to your field of study too. Keep your goals as they are your dream and truly important to having another level of life. Also look into programs that do well in tough economies such as health care, nursing and social work.
