Is it legal to run automated trading software on stock market, and how to do it?

Out of pure curiosity regarding technical and legal aspects (I’m aware of the financial risks), is it legal to run an automated trading software that deals for you, using some kind of pseudo-AI?
If it is legal, how can one connect such software to the stock market? I’m guessing going through normal websites would not be suitable in terms of latency/costs, not to mention technically inefficient. Does one require special accreditations/permits to do so? How can one get them?

Automated stock trading with Linux or ASP.net?

Suppose I want to conditionally enter stock trades, with ASP.net or Linux.
Example:
If the previous week’s S&P 500 index was up 3% for the week AND if today’s S&P 500 index is up 1% THEN buy 100 shares of AAPL at the market.
The formula could be more complex. It might use a table or shares with market caps greater than $500 million with quarterly earnings surprises (earnings exceeded analyst forecasts) by 5%.
Whether Linux or MySQL or whatever language of choice, it would need a table of historical information as well as daily RSS type feeds.
If anyone has done something like this, I would like to see it. If not, what would be the best approach?

I’m more interested in specifics than the general principles about supply and demand.
Forget about supply & demand and all that rubbish. I have a graph on my computer which gives me ‘the’ exchange rate between the pound and the doller. I would like to know exactly who feeds that data to my computer. I would like to know where they get their data from. I want to follow the data back as far as i can, either with the names of the specific institutions involved, or at least a detailed description of what kind of institutions they are and what they do for a living. I appreciate that this is a tall order in the secretive world of finance………..

Who sets the stock price each day? Is it a person or an automated system?

I know a stock price is determined by supply and demand, but what I am actually asking is: Who monitors the supply and demand then sets the price accordingly? Is it done automatically by a computer system at the stock exchange market, or is there a person who monitors the daily action and then modifies the stock price manually during the day according to that? And if the stock price is modified each day by a person, does this person work directly for the company who issued the stock, or for the stock exchange who trades it? Also what about the bid/ask prices? Are they set by an automated system or by a person?

Where can I find capital to fund my Forex automated trading software?

I have a successful trading program with a couple more in development and testing. I lack the capital to fund them and make a living off of it though. Does anyone know people or places to find capital for day traders? I know people who do it for poker players but I have something far more successful and far less risky.
I wanted to add that this is not a scam. I have dealt with forex for many years and create this with help from many senior forex traders. I know the forex market and I’m not asking about that or about automated software or scams. I have clear knowledge about them all. I am asking about capital.

Hello For the past 6 months I have been hearing a lot of talk about some forex signal system super code, the commercial traders are using and that there would be a retail version available and now I hear! It is available but the only site I found says I have to be a certified trader with NFA certification like a series 3 or 7 license. Is it only for money managers? Or can retail traders use this automated trading signals bot as well. If you know someone who is using it or if you have access please tell me how and where to get a copy of forex android thanks
