Does nobody care about the Constitutional issues the AIG bonuses bring up?

12 Jul

I don’t like the AIG bonuses any more than the next guy. What I don’t like even more is the dog and pony show that Congress is putting on. Does Congress not realize that there are 2 parts of the Constitution that they are going against by attempting to tax the bonuses? How about instead of the phony outrage, Congress starts reading their bills and act in a responsible manner with our money?

How could Citigroup, one of the biggest recipients of government bailout money give $5.33 billion in bonuses?

10 Jul

Citigroup received $45 billion in bailout money which is basically from us-the taxpayers. They also lost $18.7 billion, but could still pay out bonuses! I am urging all Americans that have any dealings with Citi to “Pull the Plug.” It is time to send a message since our government will not do “the right thing” and put these crooks “out of business” !!!

Why is AIG giving out millions more in bonuses?

03 Jul

Yet another slap in the face to the taxpayers AIG is set to give millions in bonus money to its incompetent CEO’s.

Why is there no outrage? Are we that dumbed down?

Why is Barney Frank such a hypocrite when it comes to the AIG bonuses?

03 Jul

Wasn’t he the one that stopped the Bush administration from investigating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Didn’t he and his colleagues just vote themselves a raise even though America as a whole is in financial dire straits?

Barney definitely had a hand in this mess and so he seems like a hypocrite to me for going after the AIG bonuses

Does the Conservative Republicans defense of AIG Bonuses make them less credible on Treasury Secretary?

01 Jul

Rush Limbaugh agrees with me that while the Republicans rant Obama will be closing the deal. This AIG thing is a great distraction as Limbaugh put it for Obama to get his other policies passed and quickly. Are we both correct?

Why is 165 million in bonuses to AIG such a big deal when AIG handed out 62 BILLION to foreign banks?

06 Jun

Seems like such small potatoes at 165 million, when AIG handed out 62 billion to foreign banks such as Deutche bank in Germany.

Seems like the media is trying to cover that up by broadcasting so much on the rich getting bonuses. 62 billion is so much more of a crime it seems.

Why is Senator Chris Dodd so upset about AIG Bonuses, when he added the Amendment that allowed the bonuses?

04 Jun

He’s the one who added the Amendment to the Stimulus Package that allowed for all “Contractually Obligated” that had been agreed to prior to the Stimulus Package passage to be paid. And yet now he’s all up in arms about AIG fulfilling their Contractual Obligations.

Where did the 165 million AIG bonuses come from ?

27 May

Ok i was told by my boss today that the bonuses came from the us treasury department from the bail out money. I thought it came from AIG them selfs? Where did the $$ come from?

Can the AIG money be kept away from going to bonuses to only helping the company specificaly?

25 May

Why not just channel the money to help the company as opposed to paying bonuses especially when AIG knew they could not pay the bonuses! and if they are still contractualy or in law obligated to pay the bonuses why not let AIG pay the bonuses when the company starts to MAKE ITS OWN MONEY?
Please comment and thank you!

Ia it true, that Citigroup spends the 26 Billion bailout money all on bonuses?

19 May

I read in an article, where the bailout money goes, that Citigroup will get 25,6 Billion and that’s exactly the money they have budgeted for Bonuses and salary increases for 2008.
Other banks do something similar with their bailout money. Anybody can verify that?

Are DC politicians in any position to be scolding AIG bonuses, when they are the kings of wasting billions?

14 May

When you think about it, is this not more about people being jealous then actually dollar amounts, the AIG bonuses amount to chicken feed in comparison to the billions and trilion DC liberals have wasted. Thanks for your answers. God bless.

27 Apr

. A tax, such is what is being proposed for AIG is called a “Bill of attainder”.

A bill of attainder is an act of legislature declaring a person or group of persons guilty of actions and punishing them without benefit of a trial. Bills of attainder are forbidden by Article I, section 9, clause 3 of the United States Constitution.

The people that are postesting the AIG bonuses need to start with the people?

20 Apr

that wrote th e bounuses into the stimulus bill for pay back for contributions and you can stat with Obama and work your way down to Dodd and Frank. For the union people going out to I believe LOng Island Saturday to drive by the AIG exec. homes they might want drive by the Union executives home but they want to be careful they might get caught in a hail of “lead”.

Why is the Government so mad at AIG using tax payer money on Bonuses?

10 Apr

When they don’t care when they waste tax payer money?
Wasn’t in Chuck Shumer who told us that Americans don’t care about some small porky amendments? So now that AIG is just taking a small sliver for their pork they go up in arms!
