Seems to me that if we de-value the US dollar, we will buy less from foreign country and other country will buy more of our goods.
That should solve the problem of trade deficits and out sourcing of US jobs to other countries.

Is it because of the oil dependancy that stop us from doing it ?

I would also appreciate if anyone can also provide for the GBP/USD, EUR/USD, USD/JPY, EUR/JPY and USD/CHF currency pairs.

I was wondering if I want to invest my US dollar into foreign currency, how would I do so? Secondly, what are the tax implications on gains and losses?

Where does the abbreviation go traditionally go? I’ve seen it written both ways, USD $100 and $100 USD. Does it really matter?

I have a peice of paper that I believe to be some sort of foreign currency. I have no idea how to identify it. I have tried numerous websites and cannot find anythig to help me. Anyone have any ideas? On one side of the bill there is a picture that appears to be a skinny Buddha and on the other side there is a stamp of a three headed elephant. The only English text is a number on the bottom corner that says 500,000,000.

I have a website, and I want to place a small box where I can see the currency exchange rate between USD and JPY. I want it to be updated regularly and automatically. I found a few in Google gadgets but they aren’t exactly what I need… I only want USD/JPY, and no other currencies. For example, like this: USD to JPY = *current rate*

Does anybody know of a good place where I can get that sort of thing? I would greatly appreciate your answers on this one.

I would like to try currency trading. Should I contact, say for example, a bank in England to buy Pounds directly, or should I use an intermediary like Scott or Ameritrade?

All this has me in a sweat. Should I close out my modest bank account (or at least take most of it) and invest in a foreign currency or something else stable before the dollar is devalued so badly my account is technically worthless? Should I buy things like food/clothes/basic supplies in anticipation of a crash?

Whatever I do I CAN’T simply stand and hope it’ll work out. By all signs it’s too late for that. Any money-savvy people have some advice here? The sooner the better?
