Republicans, here’s why Obama will be re-elected. If you disagree, I’d love to hear it.?

04 Apr

1. Say what you want, the economy is improving. The GDP has grown, home sales are up, the stock market is in good shape, the value of the dollar recently wen’t up and most economists agree that 2010 will be a good year for employment. A few months ago, Alan Greenspan, on an interview with Larry King, agreed with this projection. The point? Incumbent presidents in the USA NEVER lose re-election when the economy is good. That is not my opinion, that is historical fact.

2. Health Care now has 60 votes, and nothing further your party does will prevent or even delay passage at this point. The bill does not take effect until 2013 or 2014, depending on whether the House’s date or the Senate’s date is enacted into the final bill. That’s another thing that goes against you. So far you’ve been using scare tactics to make people think the bill is something it’s not. But in the election of 2012 you won’t be able to do that. Because between the time the bill is signed into law and the time it takes effect AFTER the election of 2012, it will be a non-issue.

3. We are wrapping it up in Iraq. Obama is finishing the job Bush abandoned in Afghanistan, and it is projected that we will begin leaving there in summer of 2011. This being said, a year and some change later, when Obama is on the ballot, the nation will not be at war.

4. The CBO has projected the HC bill will reduce the deficit by $132 billion. Ergo, Obama, like Clinton, will get credit for reducing the deficit left by his republican predecessor(s).

To recap, in 2012 the economy is good, HC will not exist as a controversy, and the nation will no longer be involved in war, thus no divisive foreign policy hanging over Obama’s head.

That same issueless campaign/good economy/absence of war is what handed Clinton re-election in 1996. And that really wasn’t that long ago, so recent history shows that the above said will virtually guarantee Obama re-election.
