to short? Because I have scottrade and I always am only able to short 4-5 g’s of stock. Also why is it that Think or swim can short any stock but scottrade only can short stocks 5 and above. Is it because scottrade wants to limit risk? Should I switch brokers is it a hassle?

I’ve been looking around and haven’t found any. I wanted to trade S&P 500 futures. Ideally also they have fairly low fees and so forth, but I can compare that myself.

Currently use E*Trade with the E*Trade Global account. This account does not include the Australian market and unfortunately that is a market I want to invest in. Otherwise I like E*Trade very much.

I wish I could do one that did both stocks and commodities and futures, but I’ll be happy with stocks. I want to place my 40k in mutual funds into day trading (don’t worry, I have actual training, classes, risks, know I’m likely to lose, etc.) but I still want to pick one. I want an online platform that’s fast, gets information quickly, executes cheap trades, and is generally reliable and easy to read.
Anyone have experience with good ones?
